Spain booked their place in the 2026 FIFA World Cup final after a commanding 2-0 victory over France in Tuesday’s semi-final at Dallas Stadium, ending Les Bleus’ hopes of reaching a third consecutive World Cup final.
CDA News Nigeria gathered that Mikel Oyarzabal opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 22nd minute after Lamine Yamal was brought down in the box. Pedro Porro doubled Spain’s advantage in the 58th minute following a well-worked move, sealing a deserved victory for the European champions.
Spain controlled much of the contest with disciplined defending and effective attacking play. Yamal also had a goal ruled out for offside, but his performance was widely praised as La Roja outclassed one of the tournament favourites.
CDA News Nigeria reports that Spain will now face the winner of the second semi-final between England and Argentina in Sunday’s World Cup final, while France will play in the third-place playoff. The victory also extends Spain’s impressive recent record against France in major international competitions.
