Tension Grips Owo as Cultists Kill Polytechnic Student

OWO – Tension has escalated in Ondo State following the brutal murder of Ayodele Peter, a 25-year-old student of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, by suspected cultists.

The victim, who was reportedly still mourning the recent death of his mother, was attacked at his residence in the Opomulero area. The assailants allegedly forced their way into his home in what appears to be a clash linked to a cult supremacy battle within the institution.

The Ondo State Police Command confirmed the incident, stating that one suspect has been arrested following a swift response to a distress call. Police spokesperson Abayomi Kazeem noted that a manhunt is ongoing for other fleeing suspects, and the arrested individual has provided useful statements.

Commissioner of Police Adebowale Lawal reassured residents of reinforced security across the state and commended the officers’ professional response. He urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to security agencies.
