Troops of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) have neutralized one bandit and recovered a significant arms cache during a raid in Benue State.

The operation, conducted on Tuesday in Mbagen community, Ukum Local Government Area, involved ground troops and air support targeting a notorious bandit hideout. During the engagement, troops came under fire but successfully neutralized one bandit while the gang leader escaped.

Recovered items include two AK-47 rifles, one G3 rifle, five magazines, a hand grenade, 162 rounds of ammunition, and communication equipment. Force Commander Major General Moses Gara commended the troops for their gallantry during the operation.
