Umuariaga Community Demands Suspension of Unauthorised Interview, Disowns Ikechukwu Okereke’s Claims

Concerned stakeholders of Umuariaga Community have issued a formal demand for the immediate suspension of an interview recently granted by Mr. Ikechukwu Okereke on matters affecting the community, asserting that his statements in no way represent the collective position or legitimate interest of the people of Umuariaga.

The strongly worded letter, addressed to journalist Mr. MC Yaro, categorically stated that Mr. Okereke possesses neither the constitutional authority, statutory mandate, nor community endorsement to speak on behalf of Umuariaga.

“His claim of being a lawmaker and spokesperson of the community is, to the best of our knowledge, inaccurate, misleading, and without lawful foundation,” the statement declared.

The stakeholders warned that continued circulation of the interview risks misrepresenting facts, distorting the community’s collective stance, and causing reputational damage to Umuariaga as a whole.

They further described the interview as an act of personal aggrandizement and political self-glorification, pursued at the direct expense of wider community interest — conduct they condemned as mischievous, prejudicial, and wholly irresponsible.

Umuariaga stakeholders unequivocally disowned the interview in its entirety, declaring its contents unacceptable, unauthorised, and of no binding effect on the community.

The journalist was urged to discontinue further publication in the interest of fairness, journalistic ethics, and public responsibility.

The letter was signed by Comrade Bright C.S., Concerned Stakeholder, Umuariaga Community.
