The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has urged candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to remain determined in their political pursuits, insisting that power is not handed over but must be won through commitment and strategic engagement.
Wike made the remark while addressing party members and candidates, stressing the importance of hard work, grassroots mobilization, and political courage in achieving electoral success.
According to him, politicians seeking leadership positions must be prepared to make sacrifices and actively engage with the electorate rather than waiting for opportunities to come their way.
The former Rivers State governor noted that political victories are earned through perseverance, effective organization, and the ability to connect with the people.
His comments come amid ongoing political realignments and preparations for future elections across the country, with parties intensifying efforts to strengthen their structures and mobilize supporters.
Wike’s statement has since generated reactions among political observers and party faithful, many of whom view it as a call for greater political participation and competitiveness within the PDP.
