YOU CAN’T SILENCE ACCOUNTABILITY — APC FIRES BACK AT OTTI’S INTIMIDATION TACTICS

UMUAHIA, NIGERIA – The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State has accused Governor Alex Otti of deploying intimidation tactics against anyone demanding accountability, vowing that the party will not be silenced.

In a strongly worded statement issued by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Uche Aguoru, the APC alleged that the Governor has unleashed attack agents on critics, including Senator Orji Uzor Kalu and the state APC Chairman, Hon. Chijioke Chukwu, for speaking out on governance issues.

“The moment you demand accountability, you are immediately targeted, bullied, and insulted by agents of Governor Alex Otti,” the statement read.

The party took aim at the Governor’s performance despite what it described as massive federal allocations. It claimed Abia earns an average of ₦60 billion monthly, yet workers remain poorly paid—with Grade Level 7 officers earning between ₦80,000 and ₦90,000, compared to ₦145,000 for their counterparts in Imo State.

APC also raised concerns over local government funds, alleging that despite receiving between ₦450 million and ₦600 million monthly, no LG has completed a project worth ₦50 million in two years. It further questioned the rapid growth of Signature Bank, which it said lacks a visible customer base beyond the state government.

“No extraordinary development is happening in Abia State,” the APC declared, dismissing what it called government propaganda.

The party vowed to reclaim the state in 2027, targeting all legislative seats and the Government House.
