UMUAHIA, NIGERIA – The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State, Chijioke Chukwu, has issued a stern warning to party members, stating that they alone will bear the blame if the party fails to clinch the state in the 2027 general elections.
Chukwu issued the warning during a gathering with party faithful in Ikwuano Local Government Area, describing Abia as a “low-hanging fruit” for the APC if members close ranks and remain committed.
“If APC loses Abia in 2027, it is our own making because the state is a low-hanging fruit,” he declared.
The chairman noted that the party has already recorded an early victory through the peaceful conduct of its congresses, adding that many individuals who helped install Governor Alex Otti have since defected to the APC. He criticized the current administration for sidelining key supporters and urged intensified mobilization efforts.
Chukwu stressed the need for Abia to align with the APC at the federal level under President Bola Tinubu to fully benefit from national opportunities.
