Umuahia, Abia State — There was an atmosphere of joy and unity in Abia State on Tuesday as the All Progressives Congress (APC) conducted its state congress, which stakeholders have described as the most peaceful in the party’s history.
Hon. Erondu Uchenna Erondu Jnr, the lawmaker representing Obingwa West constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly and Minority Whip, expressed overwhelming happiness at the conduct of the exercise. Speaking to party faithful, he declared the event a divine ordination.
“Today is a remarkable day in the history of Abia APC. Today is a day God ordained and blessed by God. History is being made today,” Hon. Erondu said. “Since APC came into existence, this is the first time a state congress is held rancour-free, without party war, without people fighting and lamenting against one another. What we have here today is a landmark achievement for the people of Abia APC and Nigeria.”
The lawmaker, who spoke with visible optimism, credited the newfound peace and unity within the party to the strategic leadership of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu.
“The days when manna fell from heaven are gone. God uses man to bless His flock, and His Excellency Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu is a great blessing to Abia APC,” Erondu stated. He noted that Kalu’s intervention has brought stability and a sense of direction to the party’s leadership.
In a grand gesture of commitment to the party’s growth and the welfare of its members, Hon. Erondu Uchenna Erondu Jnr donated three brand new Hiace buses to the Abia APC. The buses, he explained, are to aid the party’s logistical needs and strengthen its organizational capacity moving forward.
Party delegates and supporters at the congress ground erupted in cheers as the lawmaker made the donation, seeing it as a testament to his dedication to a stronger and more united APC in Abia State.
