Kebbi Government Confirms Terrorists’ Raid On Girls’ School

KEBBI – The Kebbi State Government has officially confirmed that terrorists attacked a girls’ secondary school in the state, resulting in the abduction of an unspecified number of students and the death of at least one pupil.

The attack, which occurred on Tuesday night, targeted the school located in a remote area of the state, with armed assailants storming the premises and taking students captive.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the state government condemned the attack and reassured residents that security agencies have launched a comprehensive rescue operation to secure the safe return of all abducted students.

“The Kebbi State Government is working closely with security forces to ensure our children are brought back safely. We have deployed all necessary resources to support the ongoing rescue mission,” a government spokesperson stated.

The state governor has visited the affected community and met with distraught parents and school authorities, promising that every possible measure is being taken to rescue the students.

This incident marks the latest in a series of school attacks in northern Nigeria, raising renewed concerns about the safety of educational institutions in the region.

Security forces have cordoned off the area and are conducting extensive search operations in surrounding forests where the terrorists are believed to be hiding with their captives.
