Four members of the Rivers State House of Assembly have reversed their earlier position and declared support for the impeachment proceedings against Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his deputy, Prof. Ngozi Odu.
The lawmakers—Sylvanus Nwankwo, Peter Abbey, Barile Nwakoh, and Emilia Lucky-Amadi—accused the governor of failing to seek a political solution, intimidating the Assembly, and violating the constitution.
They claimed that despite their earlier appeal for dialogue, Fubara’s aides continued to attack Assembly members, leaving them with no choice but to support the impeachment process.
The House had earlier voted to request the state Chief Judge to constitute a probe panel against Fubara and his deputy.
