Nigeria-UAE Trade Deal to Give Exporters Global Market Access – Minister

Nigeria’s Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Jumoke Oduwole, has stated that the recently signed Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) with the United Arab Emirates will provide Nigerian exporters with a strategic hub to access global markets.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Oduwole explained that over 7,000 Nigerian product lines—including pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and agricultural produce—will enjoy duty-free entry into the UAE market, enabling businesses to use the Emirates as a launchpad to the Gulf and beyond.

She highlighted the agreement’s benefits, including easier business mobility, investment inflows into Nigerian infrastructure, and the facilitation of Nigeria’s non-oil export expansion across Africa.

The deal was signed during President Bola Tinubu’s visit to Abu Dhabi for the 2026 Sustainability Week.
