The Kaduna State Independent Electoral Commission (KADSIECOM) has urged residents to actively participate in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Speaking at a stakeholders’ sensitization meeting in Kafanchan, KADSIECOM Commissioner for Public Affairs Joseph Akpoko emphasized that voter registration is a constitutional duty that enables citizens to choose their leaders. He particularly encouraged women and youth to take part with patriotism.
Kaduna State currently ranks third in registered voters nationwide, with over four million voters, behind Lagos and Kano. Akpoko stressed the need to maintain and improve this position through sustained registration.
Participants at the meeting pledged to mobilize their communities while appealing to INEC to bring registration centers closer to rural and hard-to-reach areas.
