ADC Will “Bleed” After Convention – Baba-Ahmed Predicts

Former Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Political Matters, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, has predicted that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) will “bleed” after its national convention.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Tuesday, Baba-Ahmed stated that Vice President Atiku Abubakar will secure the party’s presidential ticket, leading to significant walkouts and internal friction.

He explained that the ADC, which houses several high-profile politicians including Atiku, Peter Obi, and former Senate President David Mark, is likely to experience serious defections and divisions once its presidential candidate emerges.

The ADC was adopted as the main opposition platform in July 2025 ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Baba-Ahmed’s comments highlight ongoing concerns about stability and cohesion within the growing opposition coalition.
