The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), under the leadership of National Chairman Tanimu Turaki, has officially declared its 2027 presidential ticket open to all qualified aspirants from southern Nigeria, including former President Goodluck Jonathan.
The announcement was made on Tuesday night during a high-profile meeting at the Abuja residence of former Vice President Namadi Sambo.
Turaki emphasized that the party is committed to a free, fair, and transparent primary process, providing a level playing field for all southern candidates.
He also welcomed a recent Federal High Court ruling that dismissed a suit by factional National Secretary Senator Samuel Anyanwu, describing it as a victory for party discipline and due process.
The decision signals the PDP’s early strategic positioning for the 2027 general elections and its adherence to regional zoning considerations.
