Musawa Cautions APC Against Replacing Northern Muslim Running Mate in 2027

ABUJA – The Minister of Art, Culture and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, has cautioned the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) against replacing a Northern Muslim running mate ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking at a policy dialogue in Abuja on Thursday, Musawa emphasized that maintaining a Northern Muslim vice-presidential candidate is crucial for political stability, national cohesion, and reward for the region’s electoral support.

She argued that altering the current regional and religious balance could undermine party unity and weaken the APC’s prospects in the upcoming polls.

Political analysts view her comments as part of growing internal dialogue within the ruling party regarding its 2027 presidential ticket, especially as speculation grows over possible reconfiguration of the party’s candidate lineup.

The APC has yet to issue an official response to the advisory.
