IGP Egbetokun Reaffirms Commitment to Affordable Housing for Police Officers

ABUJA – The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to securing affordable and decent housing for police personnel across the country.

The IGP made the pledge on Wednesday during a courtesy visit by the Managing Director of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN), Mr. Shehu Usman Osidi, and his management team at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.

In his remarks, IGP Egbetokun described the visit as timely and significant for advancing the partnership between the two institutions. He emphasized that “strategic institutional collaborations remain critical to achieving sustainable housing solutions for police officers nationwide.”

The police chief stressed that personnel welfare is a top priority under his leadership, noting that access to quality housing is essential for boosting the morale, efficiency, and overall well-being of officers. He assured the FMBN leadership of the Force’s continued cooperation to ensure police officers can seamlessly access housing benefits and mortgage facilities.

Earlier, the FMBN MD commended the Nigeria Police Force as one of the Bank’s “most strategic institutional partners” and called for strengthened collaboration to remove administrative bottlenecks. This move aligns with broader efforts to improve the welfare package for security personnel serving the nation.
