APC Clears NWC Members for National Convention

ABUJA, NIGERIA – The All Progressives Congress (APC) has cleared several members of its National Working Committee (NWC) to contest at the party’s national convention scheduled for March 27–28 in Abuja.

The screening committee, chaired by Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji, cleared National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, National Secretary Senator Ajibola Basiru, Deputy National Chairman (North) Alhaji Bukar Dalori, and Deputy National Chairman (South) Emma Eneukwu.

Also cleared are National Welfare Secretary Donatus Nwankpa, Deputy National Organising Secretary Nze Chidi Duru, and National Publicity Secretary Barr. Felix Morka.

The screening exercise is part of preparations for the convention, which will see the ruling party elect new national leadership. The clearance of the current NWC members signals continuity, though other aspirants may still contest for the positions.

“The committee conducted a thorough exercise, and those cleared have met all constitutional requirements,” a party source said.

The convention is expected to draw delegates from across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. Party leaders have emphasized the need for unity and transparency as the APC prepares for the 2027 general elections.
