Port Harcourt Man Cries Out After Landlord Allegedly Steals N5.5m Business Money

PORT HARCOURT, RIVERS STATE – A Port Harcourt man has cried out for help after his landlord allegedly broke into his shop and made off with N5.5 million—his entire business capital—with police reportedly refusing to intervene, citing the suspect’s influence.

The victim, whose identity is being withheld for safety, narrated his ordeal in a viral plea, stating that the incident occurred in the Diobu area of Port Harcourt. He reported the case to the police, but officers allegedly told him they could not act because the landlord is a “powerful man” who would not come to the station.

“They said they can’t challenge him. So who is going to fight for me? This is my livelihood. I cannot do this alone anymore,” he lamented.

The Rivers State Police Command has not yet commented on the allegation. The case highlights growing concerns over police accountability and the protection of ordinary citizens from powerful individuals.

Human rights groups have called on the Commissioner of Police to investigate the matter and ensure justice is served.
