Buni Confirms Yobe LGAs Fully Functional, No IDP Camps

Governor Mai Mala Buni has confirmed that all local government areas (LGAs) in Yobe State are fully functional and that there are currently no internally displaced persons (IDP) camps in the state.

Speaking during a recent visit to council offices, Governor Buni highlighted the progress made in restoring stability and normal operations across all 17 LGAs. He emphasized that security improvements and community rehabilitation efforts have enabled residents to return to their homes safely.

“The local governments are fully operational, and the people are living in peace. Our focus remains on ensuring that governance and service delivery reach every community,” Buni said.

The governor noted that past security challenges had displaced some residents, but through coordinated efforts involving the military, civil authorities, and community leaders, normalcy has been largely restored. He also praised citizens for their resilience and cooperation during the recovery process.

Officials from various LGAs confirmed that administrative functions, healthcare services, and education systems are running smoothly, with no need for temporary camps for displaced persons.

Analysts say Yobe’s example highlights the importance of strong local governance, security collaboration, and community engagement in addressing displacement and restoring stability in conflict-affected regions.

Governor Buni assured that ongoing development projects and social programs would continue to consolidate peace and improve living standards across the state.
