A former federal lawmaker, Emeka Atuma, has formally expressed his intention to represent Abia Central Senatorial District at the Senate in the 2027 general elections, emphasizing his experience and commitment to effective representation.
Speaking to stakeholders and party delegates, Atuma described himself as a candidate with the capacity, competence, and deep understanding of legislative responsibilities required to deliver meaningful development to the district.
He urged constituents to prioritize performance, experience, and proven track records over ethnic sentiments and political maneuvering.
According to him, Abia Central deserves “qualitative and quantitative representation” that translates into tangible benefits for the people.
He assured that, if elected, he would focus on attracting federal projects, ensuring equitable distribution of resources, and amplifying the voices of constituents at the national level.
Atuma further highlighted his previous public service record as evidence of his ability to deliver, stressing that leadership should be rooted in accountability and measurable impact.
He called on delegates and voters to support a vision centered on unity, progress, and inclusive governance.
Political observers note that the race for Abia Central is expected to be highly competitive, with several aspirants likely to emerge ahead of the 2027 elections.
However, Atuma’s early declaration signals the beginning of strategic positioning among key contenders.
As the political landscape gradually takes shape, constituents will be watching closely to assess candidates’ promises against their track records.
