Abuja — The member representing Kiru/Bebeji federal constituency, Abdulmumin Jibrin, has declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will secure a landslide victory in the 2027 presidential election, insisting that the opposition has “already lost it” .
Speaking on Arise Television’s Prime Time programme on Wednesday, Jibrin argued that even a unified opposition featuring former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Anambra Governor Peter Obi, and Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde would fail to unseat the President .
“I will say on a general note, on a general scale, and with the reality on the ground and all of the political dynamics that we can see, no matter how you analyse it… the opposition lost it already,” Jibrin said. “Even if they come together, the President will defeat them. Not to talk about when they’ve split” .
The lawmaker, a former ally of Rabiu Kwankwaso, praised President Tinubu’s political strategy, noting that the President successfully united opposition factions to form the APC in 2015, unlike the current fragmented opposition .
His comments align with recent statements by former Ekiti Governor Ayodele Fayose and FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, who have similarly argued that divisions among Atiku, Obi, and Makinde will pave the way for Tinubu’s re-election.
