The Kebbi State Police Command has dismissed reports alleging that schools across the state have been closed due to insecurity, describing the claims as false and misleading.
In a statement, the command urged residents, parents, and guardians to disregard the rumours, stressing that there was no directive from the government or security agencies ordering the closure of schools.
Police authorities assured the public that security agencies remain vigilant and are working closely with relevant stakeholders to ensure the safety of students, teachers, and educational institutions across the state.
The command warned individuals against spreading unverified information capable of creating unnecessary panic and disrupting normal academic activities.
According to the police, adequate security measures have been put in place to protect schools and maintain peace in communities throughout Kebbi State.
Parents were encouraged to continue sending their children to school without fear, while residents were advised to rely on official sources for information relating to security and public safety.
The police further reaffirmed their commitment to safeguarding lives and property and called on citizens to report any suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities.
The clarification comes amid growing concerns over insecurity in some parts of the country and the impact such threats could have on educational activities.
