NYSC Suspends 2026 Batch B Stream I Orientation Course in Niger

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced the suspension of the 2026 Batch B Stream I Orientation Course for prospective corps members deployed to Niger State.

According to a notice issued by the scheme, the decision was necessitated by the ongoing renovation of the Niger State Orientation Camp. Affected prospective corps members (PCMs) have been advised not to report to the camp until further directives are issued.

The NYSC assured the affected PCMs that they would be contacted at short notice with details of a new reporting venue and date for the orientation exercise.

The management also expressed regret over the inconvenience caused to prospective corps members and their parents, urging them to remain calm and await official communication.

The suspension follows rehabilitation works at the Paiko Orientation Camp after a severe windstorm earlier in the year reportedly damaged key facilities, including hostels, the multipurpose hall, kitchen, and staff quarters.

While the 2026 Batch B Stream I orientation exercise commenced nationwide on June 10 and is expected to end on June 30, corps members deployed to Niger State will now await fresh arrangements from the scheme.

NYSC reiterated its commitment to ensuring the safety and welfare of all corps members throughout the orientation exercise.
