ABUJA — The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has issued a stern warning to schools denying health workers access to pupils for vaccination, stating that such institutions will face sanctions.
The Mandate Secretary for Health, Dr. Dolapo Fasawe, announced the strict enforcement of immunization compliance, describing the refusal by some schools during the ongoing Measles-Rubella campaign as a violation of the Child Rights Act.
“Denying a child access to vaccination is not merely an administrative lapse; it is a violation of a fundamental child right,” Dr. Fasawe stated.
She directed all schools to verify student immunization records, maintain a Child Health Register, and collaborate with local health centers. Failure to comply will result in administrative penalties.
