Adeyemi Questions Budget Inclusion, Seeks Probe Into Agency’s Status

Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, who claims to be the Director-General of the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC), has questioned how the agency was included in the national budget despite the Presidency’s position that it never existed.

CDA News Nigeria reports that Adeyemi made the remarks during an interview with social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan.

According to Adeyemi, he was invited by the Nigeria Police Force on October 27 following a petition allegedly filed by the President’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, concerning the activities of the PFIPC. He claimed he remained in police detention for 23 days before being arraigned in court.

Adeyemi alleged that he was in detention while the national budget was being prepared and therefore could not have participated in any budget defence process. He questioned how the PFIPC was eventually captured in the budget if, as the Presidency has maintained, the agency did not exist.

He said he was not accusing the Chief of Staff of making false claims but called on President Bola Tinubu to establish an independent investigative panel to determine how the agency appeared in the budget and identify those responsible.

Adeyemi also pledged to submit all documents in his possession to the Nigeria Police Force or the Department of State Services to assist investigators. The allegations remain unproven, and the matter is currently before the court.
