The Anambra State Police Command has arraigned three suspects before a court over allegations of incest and the defilement of minors in separate cases.
CDA News Nigeria gathered that the suspects were charged following investigations into reports of sexual abuse involving underage victims. The police said the arraignment forms part of ongoing efforts to ensure justice for victims of gender-based violence and child abuse.
According to the command, the suspects were brought before the court on charges related to incest and the alleged defilement of minors. The police assured the public of their commitment to pursuing the cases diligently in line with the law.
The command also urged parents, guardians, and community leaders to remain vigilant and promptly report cases of child abuse and other forms of sexual violence to the appropriate authorities. It emphasized that protecting children remains a shared responsibility and warned that offenders would face the full weight of the law.
CDA News Nigeria reports that the cases have been adjourned, with the suspects expected to remain subject to the court’s directives as legal proceedings continue.
