OSOGBO — Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has raised serious concerns over a viral video allegedly showing Senator Francis Fadahunsi calling for the killing of Accord Party members and their families, describing the remarks as a national security threat requiring presidential attention .
CDA News Nigeria gathered that Governor Adeleke addressed journalists during an emergency press briefing on Tuesday, where he also alleged that a police directive had been issued for the immediate arrest of Accord Party leaders ahead of Saturday’s governorship election . The governor claimed credible reports indicated that those arrested would be transferred to Abuja and detained until after the poll .
CDA News Nigeria reports that Adeleke stated he had spoken with the Inspector-General of Police regarding the alleged directive, urging him to publicly clarify whether such an order had been issued . “This is now beyond politics. This is now a national security threat,” Adeleke said . He further alleged that more than 62 Accord Party leaders were currently being held in police custody without formal charges .
The governor called on the Nigeria Police and Department of State Services to investigate Senator Fadahunsi over the viral video . Meanwhile, Fadahunsi has denied the allegations, claiming the video was deliberately doctored and that he only spoke of political retaliation through votes .
