UMUAHIA, Abia State — In a dramatic on-air confrontation, former aide and spokesperson Maduka Okoro launched a sharp criticism against his former principal, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, during a radio program in Umuahia this week.
Okoro, who previously served as a key media handler for the former Abia State governor, used the platform to express grievances and level allegations against the senator, marking a notable and public fallout between the once-close political allies.
During the interview, which aired on a local radio station, Okoro did not hold back in his accusations, questioning Senator Kalu’s political decisions and leadership style. He claimed that the senator had failed to deliver on promises made to the people of Abia State and accused him of being disconnected from the grassroots.
“I can no longer keep quiet while the people I once represented are suffering due to poor representation and misplaced priorities,” Okoro stated during the program.
Political analysts and listeners were taken aback by the intensity of the criticism, given Okoro’s long history of fiercely defending Senator Kalu in media spaces. His sudden shift has sparked conversations about underlying tensions within Abia’s political circles and the possible motivations behind the public attack.
