Kebbi Drug Raids: Four Arrested

The troops of the Nigerian Army, in collaboration with operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), have arrested four suspects during raids on suspected drug trafficking locations in Kebbi State.

CDA News Nigeria gathered that the Media Information Officer of Operation Fansan Yamma, Lt. Col. Aliyu Danja, disclosed this in a statement on Monday.

Danja said troops of Sector 2, working with NDLEA personnel, conducted the operation at about 5:11 pm on October 18 in Dakin Kowa, Karaye and Gubba communities in Maiyama Local Government Area.

He said the joint operation led to the arrest of four suspects and the recovery of substances suspected to be illicit drugs.

CDA News Nigeria reports that the operation is part of ongoing efforts by security agencies to curb drug trafficking and substance abuse in Kebbi State and the wider North-West region. The suspects are expected to be handed over to the NDLEA for further investigation and possible prosecution.

The Army and NDLEA have repeatedly emphasised the link between illicit drugs and banditry, kidnapping and other violent crimes in the region, urging communities to provide timely intelligence to security agencies.

CDA News Nigeria gathered that no casualties were recorded during the operation, and normalcy has returned to the affected communities.
