Nasarawa Police Arrest 39 Malian Migrants Allegedly Lured for “Undisclosed Operation”

In a major security operation, the Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested 39 irregular migrants from Mali who were allegedly being held for recruitment into an undisclosed operation.

Police Commissioner Shettima Mohammed Jauro disclosed that the foreigners were discovered in a hideout in Mararaba, Karu LGA, following intelligence reports. Preliminary investigations suggest a Malian national lured the victims—32 men and 7 women—with promises of jobs in France before detaining them.

In a separate incident, police arrested a kidnapping suspect, Abubakar Adamu, in Obi LGA, recovering an AK-47 rifle, two magazines, and 11 rounds of ammunition from his residence.

The migrants are to be handed over to the Nigeria Immigration Service for further action, while a manhunt is underway for the alleged recruiter who remains at large.
