Lagos Police Arrest Two Suspected Traffic Robbers Following Viral Motorist’s Alert

LAGOS — The Lagos State Police Command has arrested two suspected traffic robbers within 24 hours of a motorist raising a public alarm about repeated attacks along the busy Ojota-Ketu expressway.

The arrest followed a direct distress message sent via social media platform X to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi. The motorist, commuting with her daughter, reported that a four-man gang attempted to break into her vehicle in broad daylight on the Ojota bridge, hitting her windows with fists and stones and allegedly brandishing a weapon.

Acting on the report, operatives from the Command Intelligence and Tactical Unit launched an operation and apprehended the two suspects on December 8. The police confirmed the suspects were caught in the act and have confessed to harassing motorists along the corridor.

SP Adebisi commended the public for the timely report and reiterated the command’s commitment to safety, urging residents to maintain vigilance and report suspicious activities promptly.

Investigation is ongoing, and police patrols have been intensified around the identified black spot.
