UMUAHIA — The Reality Organisation, a prominent socio-political group in Abia State, has called on the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to dissolve the party’s State Working Committee (SWC) in Abia, accusing the Chijioke Chukwu-led leadership of partiality, poor judgement and failure to unite members ahead of the 2027 general elections .
CDA News Nigeria gathered that the group rejected the SWC’s recent decision to withdraw its threat of disciplinary action against Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, describing it as a “face-saving exercise” that did not amount to genuine reconciliation . The controversy began when the Abia APC leadership accused Kalu of anti-party conduct after he predicted during a television interview that Governor Alex Otti could win re-election in 2027 .
The Reality Organisation maintained that Kalu committed no anti-party offence, stating that “a prediction is not an endorsement” . It argued that Kalu was asked a direct question and gave an honest political assessment, rather than expressing support for an opposition candidate . The group accused the SWC of applying disciplinary measures selectively, claiming that other party figures associated with Governor Otti had not faced similar threats .
“Chijioke Chukwu had an opportunity to unite the Abia APC. He has failed,” the organisation declared . It announced plans to convene a meeting in October to review the political situation and determine the appropriate leadership direction for the party in the state .
