UMUAHIA – The Abia State Government has issued a strong statement condemning what it calls a “vicious smear campaign” against Governor Alex Otti.
In the release, the government alleged that the coordinated attacks are being orchestrated by the former Commissioner for Information, Mr. John Okiyi Kalu.
The government accused Kalu of using social media and other platforms to spread misinformation and malicious content aimed at tarnishing the governor’s reputation. It described the actions as a desperate attempt to distract from the current administration’s progress.
Officials vowed not to be deterred by the alleged campaign, reaffirming their commitment to delivering on Governor Otti’s promises to the people of Abia State.
As of press time, Mr. John Okiyi Kalu has not issued an official public response to the allegations.
