A concerned citizen questions the former minister’s philosophical praise for Governor Otti’s administration, demanding concrete evidence of visible projects.
A concerned Abian, Eke O Ako, has written an open letter to former Minister of Aviation, Chief Osita Chidoka, challenging him to publicly identify the landmark projects he inspected during his recent visit to Abia State .
In the letter, Ako noted that Chidoka’s Facebook writings have praised Governor Alex Otti for rebuilding infrastructure and creating a “New Abia,” but questioned why the former minister did not specify any major physical projects he personally saw on the ground.
“I went to Abia two weeks ago and I did not see any major transformational project apart from the rehabilitated 5.9km PH Township Road Aba and the 6km Ohanku Road Aba and some minor road expansion works at Umuahia, plus a motor park,” Ako stated.
CDA News Nigeria gathered that the Abia State Government has proposed a record N1.016 trillion budget for 2026, with 80 percent—amounting to over N811 billion—allocated to capital expenditure . Governor Otti has also disclosed that his administration completed over 800 kilometres of roads in three years .
Ako requested Chidoka to publish the following: “THE FIVE BIGGEST LANDMARK PROJECTS YOU PERSONALLY VISITED AND INSPECTED DURING YOUR STAY IN ABIA,” and for each project, provide its name, location, current status, and photographs.
Chidoka, who recently delivered a keynote lecture titled “Abia at 35: The Rise of a New Abia,” had emphasised the need for Abia to build institutions that can sustain development beyond individual governments .
“Chief Chidoka, please help Abians separate visible development from political hospitality and public relations. What exactly did you see on the ground?” Ako asked.
