ADC Dissolves Kano Executives, Constitutes Caretaker Committee

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has dissolved its Kano State executive committee and constituted a caretaker committee to oversee the party’s affairs in the state.

CDA News Nigeria gathered that the Deputy National Chairman (North-West) of the ADC, Najaatu Mohammed, announced the development at a news conference held at the Nigeria Union of Journalists Press Centre in Kano on Monday.

According to her, the action followed the party’s constitution and the Electoral Act, and was taken to protect the party’s future in the state.

Mohammed explained that the national leadership acted to preserve unity, continuity and constitutional integrity within the ADC in Kano, noting that a leadership vacuum could not be left unattended. She stressed that the move should not be seen as a judgment on the loyalty or contributions of party members who had built the ADC from the grassroots.

She appealed to stakeholders, elders, youth and women leaders, and ward executives across the state to support the transitional arrangement in good faith, urging members to replace suspicion with trust and uncertainty with confidence.

The new caretaker committee is headed by Alhaji Umar Bala as chairman, with Isma’il Musa serving as secretary.

Mohammed expressed optimism that adherence to the party’s constitution and democratic principles would strengthen the ADC in Kano State ahead of future elections.
