Adeleke Demands Lagere Flyover Completion by April

OSOGBO, NIGERIA – Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has issued a stern directive to contractors handling the Lagere flyover project in Osogbo, demanding that the project be completed by April 2026.

The Governor, during an inspection tour of the project site on Wednesday, expressed dissatisfaction with the pace of work and warned that there would be no extension beyond the new deadline. He emphasized that the flyover, which is aimed at easing traffic congestion in the state capital, is a critical infrastructure project his administration is committed to delivering.

“I have given the contractor a clear directive: this project must be completed by April. There will be no excuses. The people of Osun deserve to enjoy this infrastructure without further delay,” Adeleke stated.

The Governor directed the Ministry of Works to intensify supervision and ensure that all necessary resources are deployed to meet the new timeline.

The Lagere flyover, one of the signature projects of the Adeleke administration, is expected to significantly reduce gridlock in the busy Osogbo axis. Residents have welcomed the Governor’s intervention, urging the contractors to speed up work.

The contractor has assured the government of their commitment to meeting the April deadline.
