The Action Progress Akwa Ibom Union (APAIU), a socio-cultural group of Akwa Ibom indigenes resident in Ikwuano LGA, has endorsed Ugwumba Chika Ishionwu and urged him to contest for the Abia State House of Assembly.
During a weekend meeting in Umudike, the Union praised Ishionwu’s community-driven programs, particularly the Free Bus Scheme to Ndoro Market and free JAMB tutorials, which members testified had directly benefited their families.
APAIU Chairman Mr. Emmanuel Adamson Ufot described Ishionwu as a “transformational leader” whose people-oriented initiatives cut across ethnic lines.
The group promised to mobilize members to transfer their Permanent Voter Cards to Ikwuano to support his candidacy. Ishionwu, represented by Mr. Samuel Uba, thanked the Union and said he would consult widely and seek divine guidance before making a final decision.
