AWKA – The Anambra State Government has issued a strong warning to the public, disowning a fraudulent online campaign promising election funds from Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo.
The government’s statement comes in response to a scam circulating on the internet that urges electorates to click a link to access a purported N25,000 campaign fund ahead of the upcoming gubernatorial election.
In an official statement, the State Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefo, clarified that the campaign is entirely fake. “Neither the governor nor the government has authorised any campaign or initiative that requires citizens to visit external links or provide personal information in exchange for funds,” Mefo stated.
The government urged Ndi Anambra and the general public to be vigilant and avoid engaging with such suspicious links to protect their cyber safety and personal information.
