(Kafanchan) – In a significant political shift, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, has declared Southern Kaduna a stronghold of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The declaration came during a rally in Kafanchan on Saturday, where high-profile politicians from the region, including Senator Sunday Marshall Katung and Representative Daniel Amos, defected from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Speaker Abbas described the move as a “political earthquake,” crediting President Bola Tinubu’s administration for delivering key projects to the area. He cited the establishment of the Federal University of Applied Sciences in Kachia, a new Federal Medical Centre in Kafanchan, and a Military Command Centre in Samaru Kataf as evidence of the government’s commitment to developing Southern Kaduna.
Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, welcomed the defectors, stating that the influx of opposition members into the APC signals public endorsement of his inclusive governance and the people-oriented programs at both state and federal levels.
