Umuahia, Abia State — Supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State have claimed that Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Femi Falana expressed disappointment with the performance of Governor Alex Otti’s administration after reportedly inspecting projects in the state.
According to a statement made available to CDA News Nigeria, the APC camp alleged that Falana remarked that “Abia deserves more,” arguing that the state’s development does not reflect the resources available to the government. The statement further claimed that the remark supports the campaign message of the APC governorship candidate, Chief Eric Opah, who has pledged improved governance if elected.
“Abia deserves more,” the statement attributed to Falana reads.
The statement also argued that Abia should have achieved greater infrastructural and economic progress with the revenue received in recent years. It described the alleged remarks as reinforcing the opposition’s criticism of the current administration.
As of the time of filing this report, CDA News Nigeria could not independently verify that Falana made the remarks, and neither Falana nor the Abia State Government had issued an official response to the claims. The development is expected to generate political reactions as the 2027 election season gathers momentum.
