Army Rescues Late Maj. Gen. Rabe Abubakar’s Wife After Gun Battle with Bandits in Katsina

The Nigerian Army has rescued Mrs. Abubakar, wife of the late retired Maj. Gen. Rabe Abubakar, following a violent encounter with armed bandits in Matazu Local Government Area of Katsina State.

According to military sources, troops conducting a search-and-rescue operation engaged the bandits at Tunga village, forcing the criminals to flee under intense military pressure.

During the operation, Mrs. Abubakar sustained gunshot injuries. However, soldiers successfully secured her release and immediately administered first aid before evacuating her to a medical facility for urgent treatment.

A military source disclosed that the troops acted swiftly after making contact with the bandits, leading to the successful rescue of the victim and the disruption of the criminals’ activities in the area.

The latest operation highlights the ongoing efforts of security forces to combat banditry and rescue victims of abduction across the country.

Authorities have assured residents that operations against armed groups will continue as security agencies intensify efforts to restore peace and protect lives and property in affected communities.
