Former federal lawmaker, Rt. Hon. Emeka Atuma, has commended the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ikwuano Local Government Area for conducting peaceful, credible, and united ward and local government congresses .
Speaking at the LGA congress held at the party headquarters in Ndoro, Atuma praised party faithful for their peaceful conduct throughout the exercise and assured them that the APC will defeat opposition parties in the 2027 general elections if members remain committed, loyal, and faithful to the party .
“Wherever we have cohesion, the people will shift ground. Where we are not united, we will struggle,” Atuma reminded party members .
The former lawmaker emphasized that politics is ultimately about developing the people, both in infrastructure and human capital development. “These two things go together. That is the reason you all party faithful are here. No single man can develop a community,” he stated .
Atuma expressed confidence that by 2027, the APC will capture all elective positions in Abia State, building on the momentum from the successful congresses .
He reminded party faithful of the benefits Ikwuano is already enjoying under the APC-led administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as well as the leadership of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, who serves as the party’s leader in Abia State .
“If Ikwuano also elects its sons and daughters during the forthcoming 2027 general election, all of us shall enjoy the government,” Atuma assured .
He urged party members to remain peaceful and united, warning against any actions that could create factions and jeopardize the party’s victory. “Never create factions that will jeopardize the victory of our party,” he cautioned .
Atuma also recalled the words of a late political stalwart in the area, Mr. Sharp Sharp, who famously said, “Let’s observe all protocol means only those that were part of the sharing” — a reminder that political benefits accrue to those who actively participate and remain loyal .
