Onuigbo Hails Ikwuano APC Peaceful Congresses, Hails Tinubu, Kalu for Leadership

After the successful conduct of ward and local government congresses across Abia State, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and member of the North East Development Commission Board, Rep. Sam Onuigbo, has declared that the party has finally become what members have always desired .

In a statement issued after the exercise, Onuigbo expressed delight at the peaceful and rancour-free atmosphere that characterized the congresses for the first time in over a decade .

“What we witnessed across the State was not just a congress, but a demonstration of maturity, trust, and genuine consultation. From the wards to the local governments, our people conducted themselves peacefully, proving that when everyone is given a sense of belonging, unity comes naturally,” Onuigbo stated .

The former federal lawmaker, who represents Ikwuano/Umuahia North and South, hailed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR and the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu CFR, for the leadership they have demonstrated in fostering trust among party leaders across the state .

“I stayed back in my ward and local government because I trust our leaders across the State to choose those who will represent them well. That trust has strengthened our bond and eliminated divisions. There are no factions in Abia APC. We are one big family,” he emphasized .

Onuigbo commended the Congress Committee, national and state leaders, stakeholders, and every committed party member who contributed to the successful exercise, describing their discipline and cooperation as a strong foundation for the future .

“It was gratifying to see the smiles from the faces of members who participated in the peaceful and rancour free congresses. No imposition. No unnecessary interference,” he added .

The APC stalwart expressed confidence that the momentum is building as the party moves toward the State Congress and preparations for the 2027 general elections, urging members to sustain the spirit of unity .

“Together we will keep moving forward,” Onuigbo concluded .
