Beware of Obi, His Supporters — Abure Advises Dickson to Learn from LP Crisis

The embattled former National Chairman of the Labour Party (LP), Julius Abure, has advised former Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Seriake Dickson, to be wary of Peter Obi and his supporters ahead of any political alignment.

Speaking in an interview on Tuesday, Abure warned Dickson to study the crisis that tore the Labour Party apart before considering any collaboration with Obi’s camp.

“Obi and his supporters are not easy people to work with. They want total control but take no responsibility for failure. I advise Dickson to learn from what happened to us in Labour Party,” Abure said.

Abure, who was ousted amid a bitter leadership battle that split the party into factions, accused the Obidient movement of hijacking the party structure and sidelining original stakeholders.

Dickson, who recently left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has yet to announce his next political move, but speculation is rife about a possible alliance with Obi ahead of 2027.

Obi’s media team has dismissed Abure’s comments as “the bitter outburst of a rejected leader.”
