CF Knocks Peter Obi’s One-Term Promise, Tinubu’s ‘Shambolic’ Performance

A leading civil society group, the Conference for Nigeria’s Future (CF), has issued a rare double-barrelled criticism, as the CF knocks Peter Obi’s one-term promise and Tinubu’s shambolic performance in a new policy assessment released Monday in Abuja.

The group described Obi’s pledge to serve only one term if elected as “politically naive and economically destabilising,” arguing that it would create uncertainty and discourage long-term investments.

“A one-term president becomes a lame duck from day one. That is not leadership; it is political theatre,” the CF statement read.

Simultaneously, the CF lambasted President Bola Tinubu’s current administration, labelling its economic and security track record as “shambolic, disjointed, and increasingly detached from reality.”

The group cited rising inflation, widespread insecurity, and policy inconsistencies as evidence of systemic failure.

CF called on both leaders to abandon “gimmicks and excuses” and present coherent, practical plans to address Nigeria’s challenges.

Neither Peter Obi’s camp nor the Presidency had issued an official response at the time of filing this report.
