Couple Arrested for Kidnapping 2-Year-Old, Demanding ₦5m Ransom in Nasarawa

LAFIA – The Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested a woman, Asabe Isa, and her husband, Umar Isa, for the alleged kidnapping of a two-year-old boy from the Shabu area of Lafia.

The suspects reportedly abducted the child on October 16 and demanded a ₦5 million ransom for his release.

Police Commissioner Shettima Mohammed disclosed this on Friday, stating that a total of 24 suspected kidnappers are currently in custody.

Preliminary investigation reveals that the woman conspired with her husband to abduct the child, and she has confessed to the crime,” the CP said.

In a related development, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) announced its operatives neutralised two suspected kidnappers during a recent gun battle in the state.
