OSOGBO — Afrobeats superstar Davido has reacted with excitement to the reported victory of the Accord Party in the hometown of former Osun State Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, as results from Saturday’s governorship election continue to trickle in.
CDA News Nigeria gathered that the singer, who has been actively campaigning for his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, took to his official X handle on Saturday to celebrate the result. “We dey flog Oyetola for him hometown!!! I don order case of Martell like this,” Davido wrote.
CDA News Nigeria reports that Davido also gave an update on the upload of results to INEC’s IReV portal, stating that 1,077 out of the 3,763 polling units had been uploaded. “We are getting there, let’s keep pushing. Voters, demand that INEC Staff uploads your Polling Unit result sheets ASAP #Imole All The Way,” he wrote.
In another post tagging Governor Adeleke, the singer wrote, “BULLDOZER!!!!!!! BULLDOZER!!!!!!! @AAdeleke_01.” The governor, who is seeking re-election on the Accord Party platform, is facing APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji and ADC’s Najeem Salaam. Early results have shown the Accord Party winning polling units across the state.
