Delta Police Rescue 23-Year-Old Kidnap Victim, Arrest Eight Suspects

The Delta State Police Command has successfully rescued a 23-year-old kidnap victim and arrested eight suspects in a series of intelligence-led operations across the state.

CDA News Nigeria gathered that the victim was abducted on October 19, 2026, in front of his residence at Owa-Alero and dragged into a nearby bush. Following a report by his brother, operatives of the Owa-Oyibu Division, working with local volunteer groups, launched an intensive search and rescued him the following day.

According to a statement by the command’s spokesperson, SP Bright Edafe, the operations conducted between October 20 and 23 led to the recovery of three firearms, 26 live cartridges, and substances suspected to be Indian hemp.

In a related development, police raided a hotel in Abraka, arresting six suspected cultists and recovering a bag containing a firearm and illicit drugs. Furthermore, operatives arrested two suspects, Richard Nmorsi (62) and Amechi Osemeke (56), in Ekuku-Agbor, recovering locally fabricated firearms and ammunition from their residences.

Commissioner of Police, CP Samuel Erale, commended the operatives and affirmed the command’s commitment to dismantling criminal networks across the state, while urging residents to remain vigilant and provide credible information.
