Faculty of Law Denies Blog Report, Cites Internal Staff Matter and Political Motives

Re: False and Misleading Social Media Publication on Faculty Affairs

I have just stumbled to a news blog on faculty of Law which I consider as very false and misleading report on the real issue. It is regretable that the blogger, whose platform thrives on sensationalism rather than verified information, failed to seek clarification from the appropriate authorities before publishing the said report.

Matters concerning the appointment, termination, or resignation of staff remain internal administrative issues within the exclusive jurisdiction of the Faculty and the University.
For the avoidance of doubt, the facts are as follows:

The Postgraduate Coordinator, who had served for three years and seven months, was formally relieved of her appointment by the Dean on 6th November 2025 at 12:00 noon. A Deputy Coordinator was immediately appointed, and both the Vice-Chancellor and the Dean of the Postgraduate School were duly notified.

At approximately 3:00 p.m., the husband of the relieved officer, a Professor, appealed that his wife be permitted to resign. He was informed that the action had already been effected. The following day, a backdated resignation letter was presented.

We gathered that the false and mendacious publications were sponsored and orchestrated by the heightened political interests regarding the forthcoming Deanship election, in January 2026. Reliable source show that this situation has been deliberately exploited to favour the PG Coordinator’s husband who is an aspirant and to create unnecessary tension and public misinformation.

The PG Coordinator is bent on securing the support of every staff for the husband. Analysts are of the view that a victory for the husband is a continuation of her high handedness and extortionist tendencies in the Faculty for the past three years.

We observed that the issue linking the Dean was a ploy to beat the Dean into supporting the husband, who is considered largely by staff as unfit for the position . The intent is clearly to misrepresent facts and discredit the leadership of the Faculty.

At the time of going to the press, We reliably gathered that the e University has scheduled a stakeholders meeting to hear from both sides . Accordingly, members of the public and the university community are urged to disregard the false report and allow the established administrative process to reach its conclusion.
