Federal Government Charges Ozekhome with Forgery in UK Property Case

The Federal Government has filed a three-count criminal charge against a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Mike Ozekhome, over alleged forgery and the use of false documents in a disputed UK property case.

The charges, filed by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) before a Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja, accuse the 68-year-old lawyer of knowingly presenting a forged Nigerian passport to support his claim of ownership of a property located at 79 Randall Avenue, London.

The alleged offences were committed in August 2021. The ICPC alleges that Ozekhome used the false document during proceedings before the London First-Tier Tribunal.

Counts include receiving property through a felony, making a false document, and dishonestly using a forged passport as genuine.

The senior lawyer has yet to publicly respond to the charges. The case is pending assignment for trial.
